Food Artists at Work
This just in…as a follow-up to my headquarters visit last month, I wanted to remind you that Domino’s is currently running a “Show Us Your Pizza” contest. If you haven’t seen the ad on TV, you should check it out because it’s quite amusing. Usually, the simple act of filming a pizza requires food stylists and an extensive camera crew. Just to ensure that the cheese and toppings look just right as a slice is lifted from the pizza, the base is nailed to the table top, heat guns brown the crust just so, and the toppings are repositioned with tweezers. Who knew?!
But now, Domino’s is avoiding this typical industry gimmickry and instead relying on pictures submitted by actual customers. This isn’t laboratory tweaked pizza but the real deal as it’s delivered to any person across the country. As an added incentive for customers to participate, Domino’s is in the middle of running a contest between now and October 11th. They will will award $500 to 8 lucky winners on October 18th. Some of the winners will also have their photo featured in an ad.
To further sweeten the pot, I’m offering a $20 Domino’s Pizza gift card to anyone who sends me a duplicate picture of what they submit to Domino’s and provides the most striking description of how the pizza tasted as compared to 10 years ago. Is it better, worse, the same? What makes it so? Several sentences will do and on October 18th I’ll also announce a winner!
