Perhaps the word Alexia doesn’t evoke 100% natural organic food. Kind of along the lines of Olestra or Nutra Sweet. But Alexia Foods are actually named after Alex Dzieduszycki, once a Manhattan chef who ventured away from 4-star restaurants starting a catering business where he developed Terra Chips® from his small Lower East Side kitchen.
Even after this successful creation, Alex moved on to creating quality side dishes to match the same discerning standard as premium entrees. Alex started by hand selecting the finest all-natural ingredients and producing only small batches. Whether seasoning his Beauregard Sweets and Yukon Gold Potatoes or baking the perfect artisan Ciabatta and Focaccia breads, Alex achieved his goal of selling 100% all-natural, trans-fat-free, premium frozen side dishes from freezer to table in minutes.
Thanks to Alexia, I had the opportunity to sample a complementary frozen side dish and pair it with my favorite entree. I kept it simple by picking the Oven Fries with Olive Oil and Sea Salt. These potato wedges are cut from the finest Pacific Northwest Russets lightly seasoned with pure olive oil and a touch of sea salt. That’s it…nothing processed or funky sounding in the ingredients list. After crisping them up in the toaster oven for 10 minutes, I served them up with grilled beef tenderloin off the grill and steamed Swiss Chard. Pure unadulterated simplicity!
What entree would you pair with these oven fries? Grilled burger, steak, or something entirely unexpected…? Leave me a comment detailing your most original pairing and win an Alexia apron shipped straight to your door.
