Cubano Cosmo
Panache and a focus on all things culinary really sets Holland America Cruise Lines apart from the rest of the operators plying the high seas. Guests on board aren’t just served top notch tasty cuisine but can take behind-the-scenes kitchen tours, attend cooking classes taught by resident celebrity chefs like Jacques Torres and Charlie Trotter, and get up close and personal with artisan ingredients that comprise the building blocks of their unique dishes.
So it was with great excitement that my writer friend Gigi Ragland shared a signature cocktail recipe featured on board Holland America’s Nieuw Amsterdam 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise. Their signature Cubano Cosmo, an amalgamation of fresh juices and locally-made rums is a touch of Puerto Rican class that’s best imparted via its convivial mixture and presentation. A tropical blend of mojito and cosmo, Gigi assured me that the Cubano Cosmo is perfect for savoring on a warm windswept night at sea….or right out on your patio when the weather is favorable. Go ahead, grab your cocktail shaker and deck lounger and give it a try!:
