Attending Mohegan Sun’s Annual Restaurant Week got me in to try newly-opened Hash House-A-Go-Go. With multiple locations in Vegas, this is Hash House-A-Go’s first outpost on the East Coast serving up their twisted farm food…meaning uber generous portions whipped up from scratch and brought piping hot to your table sans heat lamps. And the ingredients are all fresh…local when possible. You not only get breakfast on steroids…in a good organic sort of way like Andy’s Sage Fried Chicken Benedict w/ maple reduction, 2 eggs, bacon mashed potatoes & biscuit but also some down home main courses like Cedar Planked Bourbon Prime Ribeye with a Bulleit Kentucky bourbon demi glace, smoked bacon, goat cheese & venison sausage mashed potatoes.
Look to the left for my chosen dish.
Just a heads up…Hash House-A-Go is in the space formerly occupied by Birches. So it’s currently an esthetically jarring environment, the first half of the restaurant with the hostess stand and bar is definitely Hash House territory. The main dining area and open kitchen still eerily feels like the Birches still chugging away unaware of the change. Although the ambiance still has yet to make the full transition to Wild West abandon…and that will make a huge impact, the food is clearly springing from left coast sensibilities.
